Advisory Body​

SOUL is ably supported by an Advisory Body consisting of educated people from different walks of life. The regular contribution of these members has helped SOUL to achieve high standards in its working and become a benchmark for other NGOs in India. During the meetings of the governing body, all advisory body members are invited to share their opinions and advice in matters of concern. The following constitute the advisory body:

Vijay Singhal

Vijay Singhal is an IIT engineering graduate and a visionary. His unassuming nature hides his business acumen and reflects the importance of core human values in his life. SOUL Satya Hari School gets its name from his parents, Satya Bhama and Harish Kumar, who were very kind souls, and worked for imparting education to under-privileged children.

Rama Agrawal

Rama retired as Principal of a Government School in Jaipur. A qualified Hindi teacher, she has been teaching voluntarily in SOUL Satya Hari School since its inception. She says, “I was inspired by the social values of my husband. He lived his life for others and in return we were blessed because of his good work. My husband is no more with us, but his values remain with us.” She continues to follow his social values and supports all the activities of SOUL School and Mahakalika Gaushala. She regularly arranges feed and medicines for the cows and gifts for the children.

Rekha Midha

At the heart of SOUL Satya Hari School is Rekha Midha, the charismatic Principal of the school. Since she joined the school in April 2015, there has been a tremendous improvement in the overall performance of the children. Apart from academics, she also excels in cooking, stitching and knitting. She has involved the children in several extra-curriculum activities, resulting in amazing improvement in the confidence level of the children. Rekha resigned from Rockwood School, Noida in the year 2007 and since then she has been following her natural instincts for social pursuits, devoting her life to educating under-privileged children.

Abinash Samal

Abinash did his B.Tech, M.Tech (IIIT Hyderabad) and MBA (IIM Lucknow) and is working with a renowned MNC in Gurgaon. He is deft at cooking and classical dancing. Born in a family of modest means in a village in Odisha, he achieved academic and professional excellence in life through sheer hard work. The zeal to better the lives of under-privileged children is so firm in Abinash that he devotes considerable amount of his free time in teaching cooking and dancing to these children.

Gautam Yadav

Gautam’s life showcases the spirit of never giving up – no matter what. He has been championing the rights of the LGBT and PLHIV community across the globe. He teaches us how to be fearless and selfless. In 2009, he was diagnosed with HIV. The blow could have crushed anyone, but Gautam had other plans. By coming out of his HIV status and standing tall, he became a beacon of hope for countless others who suffer in shame. Presently, he is working with the Humsafar Trust.

Rudra Prasad Mahapatra

A qualified Master of Business Administration and a successful entrepreneur, Rudra’s intellectual demeanor compliments his passion to help the needy. Deftly balancing a busy personal and official life, he finds enough time for social activism. He loves children and is deeply committed to the cause of child education and nutrition. He says, “Every child is extraordinary and can scale great heights if provided the right learning opportunities.” While searching for the right platform to extend his support, he and his wife Sneha came across SOUL. “The simplicity of SOUL’s culture and transparency led me to become a part of SOUL,” he shares.

Vikas Jain

Honored by the Haryana Government in the year 2001 with the Best Social Worker Award, Vikas has come a long way to become the President of Uttar Pradesh Yuva Vyapar Mandal. After completing his M.Com he formed an NGO by the name ‘Koshish Hamari Asha’ to provide support to the blind living in Haryana. Later, he shifted to Noida to start his enterprise and since then he is an ardent supporter of SOUL. His love for cows is exemplary. He has also been providing for the various needs of the children in SOUL School.

Nipun Kaushik

A professional driven by energy and passion, he is a lawyer with expertise in Procurement & Contract Management. His experience of working with Indian and International NGOs gives him a good understanding of the NGO sector, especially Operations, Processes and Legal issues. During the years he worked with SOS Children’s Villages of India and Oxfam India, he became very sensitive towards children from challenged backgrounds. He is deeply committed to all the initiatives of SOUL.

Alokita Tangri

Alokita Tangri is a IIIrd year law student of IP University and wears many caps. She is social activist, writer, poet, and actor. She is an empowered girl, who has honed her skills in legal issues affecting women. She wishes to make legal aid assessable to all. Alokita aims to form a consortium of young lawyers to take up the cause of under-trails languishing in jails across India without a fair trial.

Devi Vasundhara

Vasundhara, a Class 12 student in DPS, Noida is an accomplished student. She is very active in many extra-curricular activities in her school. A gentle soft-spoken empowered girl, she has brought in a lot of dynamism to SOUL School by organizing regular dance workshops for the children and assisting in other initiatives of SOUL.

Aakash Anand Tangri

A sportsman by heart, Aakaash is preparing to be a Chartered Accountant. His compassion for animals inspires others to manifest this quality and treat animals with love. He spares time from his busy schedule to manage the SOUL Mahakalika Gaushala. He wishes to open a home and veterinary center for stray dogs in Noida.
